Miss Samruddhi Minekar, a 9-year-old girl from Shiye, Karvir, Kolhapur, Maharashtra, has been diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia and has been undergoing treatment involving medications, investigations, and supportive care. To give her a chance at a normal life, doctors at SRCC Children’s Hospital recommended a Haploidentical Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT), which she has undergone with her father as a 50% match donor. The estimated cost of her treatment is Rs 20,10,000/-, a sum her family—dependent solely on her father’s earnings of Rs 42,000 per annum as a laborer—cannot afford. With a homemaker mother and two siblings, the family has already spent Rs 50,000 from their limited resources but is now struggling to cover the remaining expenses. Samruddhi’s journey has been difficult since her diagnosis in September 2023, with recurring high fevers leading to extensive medical consultations and treatments, ultimately requiring this life-saving procedure. She remains under post-transplant care, and financial assistance is urgently needed to support her continued treatment and recovery.
