Little Prathik Suraj Shetty, just 9 years old, is currently fighting for his life in the ICU at Surya Hospital, Mumbai. On April 7, he was rushed to the hospital after suffering a hypoxic cardiac arrest. He was diagnosed with severe pneumonia, pneumothorax, and multiorgan dysfunction, and has since been on life support (ventilator). Prathik has already undergone emergency brain surgery (bilateral decompressive craniectomy) due to cerebral edema.

He is in a coma, requiring intensive medical treatment including IV antibiotics, antiseizure medications, and around-the-clock ventilator support. Doctors have stated he will need at least two more weeks of hospitalization, along with another critical surgery (tracheostomy).

The treatment cost has already crossed Rs 9.5 lakhs, and is expected to reach Rs 12–13 lakhs.

His father, Suraj Shetty, is a humble vegetable vendor, who is struggling to make ends meet. Affording this huge medical expense is impossible for the family without help.
